While having lunch on a not-braining day. Not braining day is probably due to a) stressful week b) lack of weekend c) ingesting two much gluten repeatedly over the past 3+ days. Not braining days are less inconvenient when I'm not supposed to be working. At least am at home as still haven't heard back about car and it's not really a day for cycling.

~~~
Notes for Thursday
- worked from home. Not incredibly effectively.
- had a decent catch-up with [livejournal.com profile] ajax_nz around lunch
- as the game I was running concluded last week I was able to board-game in the evening, winning a game of Seven Wonders (with Cities expansion) and doing OK in a game of Thurn and Taxis
~~~
Notes for Friday
- worked from home. A struggle but cleared everything which had come in overnight
- didn't get car back as expected (hoped) nor heard anything and basically wasted the afternoon waiting for the phone call (yes I even called them near the end of the day and they were going to call back)
- meaning by the time I got to F's BBQ in the evening I was already low on spoons. Probably shouldn't have compounded that with regular bread. Various foods were tasty but I had to bail after only a few hours.
- went to bed quite early

~~~
Notes for Saturday
- got out of bed about 6:30am with some determination and energy, finished the leftover work from Thursday, achieved my quota of hours for the week and invoiced
- headed over to the SAGA BBQ and Boards games in anticipation. Games for the day:
-- Seven Wonders (Cities expansion) - middling score
-- DungeonWorld one-off being run by [livejournal.com profile] ajax_nz. My first time playing a *World game and my observation is that it runs much like Ace of Spades but with more formal structure. The game was fun and entertaining enough but my enjoyment was limited by not having the energy to be more than a passive player in a game where everyone else was jumping in with their actions queue-jumping from my perspective. I was told more than once that I need to "make more noise" or "speak-up" but it seemed that any time I opened my mouth someone else was already talking and I have a hard enough time interrupting people when my tank is full.
- that's it. After the (undercatered I thought, but the fact that I had missed lunch may have contributed to that feeling) BBQ there were no games starting that I was interested and and I was fading fast so I went home and crashed hard & lonely at about 6:30pm
Notes from Sunday
- again got out of bed with some energy about 6:30am (after 12 hours you'd hope so)
- Can't remember everything I did with that energy but it included mopping the floor, some serious weeding in the vegetable garden and some serious pruning of the camelia by the garden path.
- collected by parentals and taken out to visit youngest sister and brother-in-law at their new place. This entailed a couple of hour ride in the truck to get there, another hour or so bouncing around in a truck while we looked around the place, a couple of hours back. Also ingested much gluten in the form of pasta and baking.
- the trip was interesting in a go-somewhere, see something, catch up with family kind of way.
- had hoped the trip - several hours of essentially not having to think for myself - would be mentally refreshing but it didn't actually seem to help at all
- had a nice probably-gluten-free meal (grilled fish, salad,chips) at a place called Murphy's in Woodend.
- by the time we got back to town, bedtime was usual.
~~~
Notes from today
- got out of bed at a reasonable time (ie not too far after 8am) but little energy, hard to focus, seem to be too many things I need to do and unable to get started
- have managed some urgentish work. No way I'm going to make my daily quota but if the car comes back I should be able to make that up later in the week.
- have tidied up around my desk (a mess which has slowly been getting to me) in the hopes that would clear my head by no luck. Instead I now have several tidy piles of things I should deal with but are either stalled out of my hands or I really don't have the energy.
- have managed to go over my proposed contract, look up relevant areas of employment law, sigh some, and highlight areas which need clarification.
- have made this brain-dump post in another attempt to clear my head - don't think it's works, going to have to try something else.
