So about that elf poll I had a while back....

Managed to forget that gaming had been moved for this week, which led to a mad scramble yesterday evening. Once we got going things didn't really go according to plan. Sneaking into the demon-infested city via Twitch's minisub tunnel from the harbour went all right, but when a patrol of demons turned up things got a bit messy. The solar powered guy (Firefly) started grabbing random high-powered wepons from the vault and firing them - like the atom-relocator beam. Those of you who know a little about science can feel free to wince as I mention the "proton stripper" setting.
He managed to take out the party's insubstantial sorcerer (the only guy who had some knowledge of closing the portal) with that. He then deliberately used his own energy powrs to detonate the fuel chamber on the plasma cannon (it was stuck in the torso of a demon at the time. By this stage I was a little irritated so the resulting explosion took out the block. Destroyed the sorceror's body beyond hope of recovery and practically killed FF.
Against better judgement I think the other two PCs took Firefly's unconscious body and went underground where they hooked up with the Resistance and managed to get FF revived, or be it at the cost of a large chunk of his power (no more channelling sunlight to perform a good impression of an orbital laser for you) and possibly changes in his other powers in the best comic book tradition :D
So next week a new PC will join the party. The mini campaign should only run for about two more sessions.
