Burnt two backup CDs and rearranged/deleted quite a lot of stuff off the hard drives. (And decided that the WinBloat is almost to the point of reinstall.)

Played some Privateer.

Defragged two partitions.

Carefully reattached the cover to a magazine.

Gone to the supermarket for emergency supplies.

Cooked dinner.

Watched some TV (the games partition and then the C: partion were being defragged). Saw most of The Last Samurai which seems to have made it to Sky. (Yet another movie I missed at the theatre).

Yet the day feels ... wasted.

Last Samurai is a good film :) Did you enjoy what you saw of it?

Not a bad watch, but it was fluff. Predictable plot, and another example of "American goes to a strange country and proves he is better at upholding their ideals than they are".

Good last point there :)
Perhaps what one needs now is a film that works the other way round - someone goes to America and proves they are better at upholding their ideals than they are...

Been done, many american-produced asian martial art movies (romantic "American ideals") and many american movies where the villains are some foreign multinational pulling every dirty trick (American ideals). Saw a fairly good one with Sean Connery and some black guy (who I should recognise) playing a cop, some time ago. Can't remember what it was called.
