It's been over two months since I posted anything about life in general which wasn't dumping angst. So here's a less-transient-than-facebook record of some events.

At the end of September there was another major tagging attack inside the Hall (70ish new tags). Permanent marker this time which can;t be removed like the spraypaint can. So we got some paint and painting gear off the city council graffiti taskforce and one of the new additions to the Hall volunteers with painting experience led the way to making a good start on cleaning up the inside and a couple of us painted the long-tagged alley fence.
Now I just need to find the spoons to organise a follow up.
Another thing at the Hall was "our" fifth music video - Youtube. And of course a steady string of photoshoots and other visitors. The last week has been pretty quiet, which is good because I've needed fewer things on my plate.

At the beginning of October LBTC Gytha came in carrying her left back leg - a vet stay and some $$ surgery later she had the burst inside-knee ligament replaced with an artificial one and has since been mostly confined to a cage in the dining room while the knee itself and the non-trivial surgical incision heal. Three/four weeks into this she is growing increasing truculent about cage life even though I let her out and around more than I probably should, and there are probably at least another three weeks to go. On the plus side when she went in to have the stitches out the vet said that everything appeared to be healing the absolute best that could be expected - although she seems to be favouring her leg now more than she was then.

As might be obvious from the ongoing logs the Thursday game I play in is still going well despite a little payer attrition. It has just moved to Wednesdays so I am thinking about maybe running something on Thursdays.
The Tuesday D&D game I have been running at SAGA this year came to a conclusion. Not the best campaign I have ever run but serviceable. managed a reasonably climactic 2nd-to-last session, and probably would have been best to leave it there but the players wanted to chase the defeated "boss" so we had another partial session which was something of an anticlimax where she got away anyway.
Monday of this week I managed to chip the corner of a molar on a mouthful of scroggin (I don't know how). It's the first time I've broken a tooth like that but fortunately it wasn't deep or painful. What it did do was leave a sizeable cavity under an existing old filling. Fortunately my dentist had an opening yesterday (Thursday) morning and patched it up fairly quickly, replacing the (decades) old other filling in the process.
I am well reminded of my comfortable position in life just from being able to afford the cost of the (order of magnitude greater) vet bills above and the dental work without blinking - it's set my savings goal back a month nothing more.

Actually managed to see a couple of movies over the last couple of months - although lacking the company I would have liked. Guardians of the Galaxy (good) and Dracula Untold (ok).
Have managed to get through a couple of the significant items of the gaming material acquired a few months ago now - mostly so they can be passed on to someone with more use for them than I.
Helped a couple of friends move house last weekend.
Had a good bit of a catch up with
morag_windstar over an iced chocolate this week.
Progress towards various material goals is occurring at an acceptable rate.
On the downside I realised the other day that I am bottling up a *lot* of springtime-angst at the moment. Ignoring it as there is nothing to be done, but it is taking a toll.
