For the first one I was passing too close for comfort to the earthquake-damaged house. For the second I was standing a safe distance away and got to watch how the old brickwork ... flexes ... ripples ...

The front corner is still there but I have much better understanding of how it -could- come down. I also don't think we're actually going to be able to save it unless someone can come to the party with 6 or 7 digits of ready cash :(

For the big one we were down the other end of the building, and that stayed solid as.

(What we were doing today was blocking up some of the most commonly used entry/exit windows, but we abandoned work at this point. We'll go back to it after Xmas.)

That's the first set I've really been standing out in the open for.

Yikes! I actually said to Ryan just after the first one that I was glad we weren't at AH. The house is obviously a mess, as it always was, how's the middle section?

No damage on the outside - not crazy enough to check inside today but I wouldn't expect it held up any worse that in previous quakes.

Hi Guys,
What a good couple of shakes. We assured Cera that the building was pretty safe up to a 5.9 inclusive and it looks like it stayed up without too much damage.

I have had a chance to look from the outside, and it would appear that the building is still reasonably fine, for a damaged building that is, and those were pretty good shakes. While there is some new damage, there is nothing that causes me any great concern.

Where to from now, it is still too early to be sure, but once we have things sorted with the Owners about plans, we should be able to get cracking with a firm plan and get fundraising and setting up a trust.

Have A very Merry Christmas and relax, we are shaken but not stirred.

Michael.
