Couldn't ask for a better post-party morning weather-wise.

Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pepperbeast and [livejournal.com profile] littlel for stepping up to deal with the savories while I was dealing with the aftermath of a vomiting attendee (one of four, the first three in the space of about 10 minutes about midnight. I'm not sure if that pushing the record for a KAOS party. However other people stepped up to take care of the other three messes (and one will-she-wont't-she) for which I am grateful).

The "roxxored" as they say. People started turning up early, critical mass was hit before 10, the were an amazing amount of old-crowd faces and a good mix of old and new crowd overall. The weather was not-cold and people seemed happy to fill up the driveway, but the inside was plenty busy as well and [livejournal.com profile] zakzahn's playlist went down well. Noise control didn't pay a visit. Last people got the hint and disappeared off about 3:30 (by which time I had done 2 full loads).

Me? Well I haven't been sleeping well and work pretty much devoured my week, including dumping on me on Friday such the instead of finishing about 1, or 2 at the latest I finished at 5. Didn't have time for the nap I needed and was still frantically trying to get the place set up as people were arriving (and offering to be helpful, but it's a pretty linear process). Various issues revealed themselves which wouldn't have been a problem if I'd been able to discover them earlier in the week!.

So I spent the early party of the party ready and willing to rip someones lungs out the next time something went wrong. Fortunately my mood mellowed over the night, even felt pretty good for a while but as usual the party only taunted me with the glimpse of something more. There was plenty of action happening but I wasn't part of it. Plenty of hugs, which I was more proactive about than usual, but that was all.

Meh, what's a gothic party (my generation's era of goth) without a little angst?

So I've managed nearly 5 hours solid sleep (usual odd dreams not-withstanding) and it's far to late in the day and sunny outside for me to stay in bed alone. Breakfast is next on the to-do list then clean up outside until the comatose guests from Dunedin stumble blinking into the light and I can attend to the lounge/dining-room/kitchen.
