Another family tragedy

I've just learnt that my Uncle was killed in a car accident Tuesday night. This was unrelated to the quake (up Blenheim way)

My aunt survived, no major injuries apparently, but was trapped until the car was found about 3pm yesterday.

My parents are, well, I don't know. Pretty fragile right now.

It's all starting to get on top of me as well.

Don't forget to take care of yourself. Make sure you take care of you and your state before trying to be a leaning pole for others.

Your parents should also reach out for support from others, professionals but it shouldn't be just YOUR job.

We're a very tight-knit family, but we're not a very ... talky, close ... family. With the recent losses I know my parents are really wanting and trying and needing the reassurance of seeing and being close to us kids (excacerbated by my sister distancing herself) and that's not something I'm very good at, both because of brain issues and geographical issues - but geographically I am the closest to them.

I take my eldest-son duties seriously, now is the time I really need to come through on that.
