So I'll be on duty at Spacecraft tomorrow from 2pm, so I'm putting the hard word on all my friends to show up and say Hi (and bring a project) :D

I'm at that annoying point where there is just enough money coming in where I start to feel that I can spend frivolously, but practically ought not to. Fr'instance I'd like to test out the PVR functionality on my Freeview box tomorrow, but this would necessitate acquiring a 'new' (ie formattable) external hard drive. I've had a quick look at prices (including TradeMe) and just can't justify it :(

Vaguely related I made the mistake of picking up some property glossies when I went out to get the paper this morning, ostensibly to see what houses in this area are going for (auction and POA mostly, which doesn't help at all) and yeah, it looks like a good time to get on the property track -if- you have a couple of hundred grand spare. Pretty sure prices are going to fall further just have the feeling the low will have passed by the time I'm ready to move into the market.

Enough to make me think about selling down to free up some capital from this place, and question my motives for staying put which could be mostly emotional not wanting to leave before I've finished the "project" (and such projects are never finished....)

Didn't think of that. Thanks for the tip, a new cheap pendrive was much easier to justify.

It worked after one complaint from the PVR about 'non-matching speeds', enough for me to confirm tat my relatively early Freeview box does not in fact support 'record one channel, watch another' :-/
