I know Julian through the Quakers (Religious Society of Friends). My parents are good F/friends of his parents, and I've done a bit of Young Friend stuff with him (though I've not been so involved in the last few years).

Also, I think it might have been him who rescued my jandal when it got swept off my foot by a small stream I was wading through when I was very small - it moved far too fast for me, and I didn't think anyone had heard me yell, but then I saw one of the older kids running after it for me and when I checked the old photo album from that camp, he looked a lot like I remembered that helpful young lad had. :)

So yes, a nice guy, that Julian.
