One of the disadvantages of having a huge-ass TV set is the quality of recordings made in an earlier age. I can't tell if the loss in quality is due to the size of the screen or an encoding/decoding issue somewhere along the line, but I'm opting for the former since everything looks OK (as OK as 'filmed 20 years ago, dubbed at least once on VHS' can be) on the computer monitor.

Sound seems to have picked up a bit of a crackle somewhere - in future I probably shouldn't compress it if I'm copying a video to be DVDed.

Took forever - 4+hours for ~1 1/4 hours of video - to encode from avi prior to burning. I expect that's mostly a reflection on the available resources of this computer, and the fact that I captured at the highest possible dimension and quality.

Overall - a success. Now I need to get me some labels to print to, and figure out a cover-designer app.

- washed car
- sprayed roses
- added a Twitter widget to my website
- a bit of paid work
