The big race day in Chch

The smell of hairspray threatens to overwhelm the petrol fumes along Lincoln road.

Drinking began at 10, if not earlier. Somewhere nearby a drunken chorus is already well wound up. Some heading for the raceway appear to be having trouble distinguishing between gutter and footpath, and even which direction they want to be going.

I was at work before the traffic, and hope to get away in a lull as well.

OTOH, lovely day for it - and eating lunch outside.
