Nature's bounty
Feb. 7th, 2007 12:27 pmFinished weeding and digging through the garden this morning - except the 'vegetable' garden which has a small hill of plant matter now piled on it. The usual side effect of accumulating more potatos than I know what do do with from the local self-supporting population which appears to have been enjoying the exceptional growing season just as much as the weeds.
There is also a stupidly large number of crysanthemum[?] seedlings (yes, in the same gardens as the potatoes. What?) and a few other flowers which have managed to hold their own against the twitch and clover.
I've also tidied through the computer room (I may still be in the middle of that, haven't decided if I'm attacking the pile of CPI lesson manuals) and I have plans to attempt a rearrangement of the layout in my bedroom after lunch. I don't seem to be running a fever, so it's probably a sign of something else.
I need a) more bookcases and b) somewhere to put more bookcases or c) to pack up some of the books I never read or d) to get my TV card working so I can start converting some of the VHS. (Actually I could probably just throw out a bunch of the VHS - but I so hate throwing things away. Likely just to mark the tapes as reusable and keep them sitting around. I've been getting better at it!
I upgraded the Ubuntu box to 6.10 yesterday, which according to the documentation supports my tv card. It can see the damn thing, but I still can't get any signal.
