Airline rules

When they say "check in at least 30 mins early" they mean turn up at least 2 hours early for checkin even if you have an early morning domestic flight because there will be a non-english tour ahead of you in the queue"

So I missed my flight. Flexible ticket means I'm rescheduled to leave at 8:30. Sitting at an internet terminal killing $2worth of 5 minutes out of an hour and a half wait and wondering what else is going to go wrong today, since it's only 7:00 already.

My return flights apparently go via Auckland. I've never been to Auckland airport. I'll probably get lost.

part deux

The flight I was moved to had mechanical difficulties, which delayed it for 3/4 hour. This was enough to miss the connection, but fortunately they held the connection for the handful of people who were on my plane.

Only got lost once on the way out of Tauranga.

Took samples. Wrestled with sheep G007 who was somewhat of an escape artist.

Went back to airport hoping that they would accept the bag of samles into luggage. They did. Didn't get into Tauranga to bookshop. Time was too tight.

Flew to Auckland in a little Beech.

Didn't get lost in Auckland airport but did trigger security with my bag (xray), my coat (xray), and myself (walking through the arch). Didn't lose anything from my stuff after closer examination, and the hand-scanner couldn't find whatever was making me beep.

Flew into chch by night. Am now home. Eating. Shower soon, then attend party as best I can. Have accumulated more strained muscles. Tired. Single.
