Bleh

Wasted away most of yesterday on the computer. In addition to the nerfing which has me struggling against critters which don't give my character significant XP, the new patch has some other bugs. It's really irritating when you've just about killed something and suddenly the game won't register that you're clicking on it. There is also an increase in the incidence of the "running backwards" and "stuck in place until you are hit" bugs which occasionally showed up in previous releases.

I don't know if the fact that minions now get a bunch of their bosses abilities, like ohhh, Cold enchanted or MANA DRAIN is a bug or a feature.

Anyway copper_em came around for the evening and took my mind off things some. We had a 2-player game of CarcassoneH&G, I shouted her dinner at Cobb & Co., we watched some videos on the computer (animatrix, fanimatrix, AMVs). It was a pleasant way to spend the evening.

I remembered I hadn't downloaded the last freebie part of the animatrix and put that on before heading for bed. It's still going - this is what happens when you're pulling down the large versions (155M) at dialup speeds :)

So, what did I do today? Got my ass kicked in DII. Laundry. Sprayed the roses. Dragged out some scanning I've been meaning to do ever since I first got a scanner. Got about half of it done, and learnt a little about paintshop in the process. That's enough to make me feel the day wasn't completely wasted.

Rang the Jury line as per the instructions on my summons, to find out if there were any updated instructions. There were. I don't need to be at the court until 1:45pm. I guess I can look into banking/insurance/financing and other such things in the morning.

Went and did the grocery shopping. You could tell I haven't eaten at home much recently by the small number of items. Washed the dishes. Decided to make an LJ post before bed.

Haven't seen redchristoph since Thursday. I assume he's hunkered over codym's or Russell's computer rather than bleeding in a gutter somewhere.
