Several of the people who read this journal will know about PC-Model. It's a machine at work which was bought independently of computer services, bastard child of a guy who did things like installing Windows on the "D" drive (which happens to be a removable SCSI) and was orphaned when it's installed OS (NT4) was no longer being supported (recieving security updates) from M$. I spent a lot of time using it before I managed to get a dedicated PC (they had to give me one when they removed PC-Model from the network).

I've been trying to buy it from the company for some time. I demand the right to format those drives! The process has been convuluted. But today, it all came together. $562.50 (incl. GST) and its mine. Mine. MINE!

OK, computer services still has to confirm that it is cleared of all company software. Hopefully that will be fitted in this afternoon. If not, well, I've been waiting a long time already, another weekend won't hurt.
