The electrician came this morning to replace all the fuses in my (very old) switchboard with modern breaker switches. I told him that my hot-water cylinder hasn't been heating since last week sometime and he thinks it is probably the fault of the new timer he put in a couple of weeks ago. He's going to replace it and we'll see what happens. I have in the meantime discovered just how efficient the wetback on the log burner is!

In the process we discovered what seems to be a fuse to nowhere. We just couldn't find anything in the house that it affects. However, one of the others has a very unusual combination of sockets on it (diagonally opposite corners of the house) so we think that it may just have been disconnected and not reused during renovations at some stage.

I got a number of things on my to-do list sorted or underway yesterday. However, I also updated said to-do list with at least as many other things to do.
