Looking back it has been a year of ups and downs - but overall ups. Despite some pretty tough patches I'm in a much better place emotionally than I was this time last year.

Going through my journal I see I wrote a lot this year - no perhaps in number of entries but certainly in length. A lot of gaming posts, a lot of posts recording dreams which continue to be vivid an weird, a lot of dumping of negativity and also some pretty heavy thoughts on social issues.

Event-wise I paid of the mortgage, acquired a cat (who promptly injured herself and became very expensive), did my second ever all-nighter (gaming again), moved ahead with the plan to get solar power installed and it's not actually recorded because it just happened yesterday but reached my next savings-and-investment target.

My finances spreadsheet indicates I may actually have worked fewer hours this year - although I started the year with a bit if a hiss and a roar I had a relapse over winter that only the last few weeks have really seen me pull up from. Apart from the mortgage (replaced by savings/investment) the rest of my spending pretty much seems to track last 2015 except for charity spend which jumped significantly in the post-mortgage refactoring.

Apart from work the biggest single time sink would have been the Hall, and at times I was getting out of that significantly less than I was putting in. That ledger is probably still in deficit, but I have made a commitment until such time as there is a significant change in circumstances or someone/s else willing and able to shoulder the load.

The greatest joys in my year came through gaming, through growing friendships and through LBTC Gytha (cat). The greatest sorrow (excluding the self-pity and angst) from seeing those around me whom 2014 treated particularly badly :( There have been no dramatic losses for me or my family in 2014 for which I am glad.
