I had to go out to Oxford to collect some stuff for work, so I popped in for dinner with my parents (and the bulk of my siblings who turned up). Mmmmmm, homegrown roast dinner.
I took the Prius of course, giving it a good run in the rain and on the way back relying on the cruise control. Excellent.

I went to overtake this van who was doing about 85. Accelerated up to about 95 to start the manuver, was just pulling up past his rear bumper when an oncoming car appeared around the corner ahead. I still had plenty of room of course, putting my foot down on the accelerator. As I pulled ahead of the van I suddenly got the feeling that the car (Prius) was going much too fast for me. Dropped my eyes from the oncoming car to the speedo and I was doing 120 - not normally a problem except my reflexes were still responding as if I was accelerating in the Gemini, which wouldn't have been up to that speed.
It's the little things which you don't realise.....
