Filled up the car last night - it was nearly empty as evidenced by the fact that it took over 44L (45L bladder).

Shade under $100 [sigh]. And most drivers have to do this on a weekly basis. How did we ever come to this? When are people actually going to start demanding, building and using alternatives?

Someone noted today that perhaps we need to stop trying to run internal combustion motors by other methods and come up with something competely new before any real progress will be made. (Magnetic hoverboards!)

I also thought today that the railways would become a lot more useable for a renewed passenger service if a) car rental outfits had outlets at stations like they do at airports, or b) you could put your car on the train and take it between cities with you (like a ferry). Surely the latter would only require some slightly modified infrastructure and processes.

Yeah, closer to $200 for my truck.
and I have no choice but to travel 61km a day for work.
We are gonna try that thingy with the hydrogen and the baking soda.
Also, canola oil is coming down in price, so may be worth trying to make that biodiesel, as long as the cost of getting the canola to here remains low enough.
*sigh*
