First, car collected by tow company and hauled off to panelbeaters. Front drivers corner pretty banged up - couldn't get my hands on a camera unfortunately. Driver's door initially failed to open but the towie gave it a hard jerk and it popped past the bit that was catching. That implies more significant structural damage though :(
Insurance company accepted the claim as straightforward - costs me $250 excess and part of my no-claims bonus.
Boss kindly gave me a lift home from where I collected my bicycle. Filled up the tires at a service station with a dodgy air pump that initially deflated the front tire. Reached office safely - shortly thereafter there was a loud POP and hissing from the corner as the front tire deflated itself.
Bike is now in the bike shop across the road, where they will get around to fixing it by 4pm tomorrow....
So I am reduced to busing. What can I do to a bus?
