Not very much interesting happening I guess. There's a whole mess of work massing just offshore - sort of like an incoming Tsunami it's all going to arrive at once. (Or it could just fizzle.) I would like some of it to be this month, although managing to make up for the deficit this month and cover next month's bills in the few days remaining would be impressive (and frantic).
No word on the two job applications I made at the beginning of the week. From the employer's perspective I'm probably overqualified on paper for both positions, or at least the likely salary, unfortunately going to be the case for anything at my level of experience. One of the hazards of changing career I guess. I'm not too worried about salary right now, I don't need much to get by, as long as there's room to be upwardly mobile in the future. I don't want to be taking a job just to get "two years experience" - it doesn't sit well.
I spent yesterday afternoon and this morning on the beginnings of a D&D3.5 character archive using php/mysql. This is my first attempt at actually building an application and I think I'm managing to get the hang of it. Doubtless entire sections of code will need to be redone as I become more familiar with various functions. What I'm most worried about though is the DB structure. On paper it looks fairly good.
Managing to head down to Dundin for the party this weekend. A bit of work mixed in - one probable stop on the way down and another confirmed on the way back. 'Boss' is talking about covering part of the trip costs which might recover my share of the petrol.
This morning has had it's 'issues', I hope it's not a foreshadowing of things to come. This evening in particular could be very good ... or very bad.
