codym's excellent Mass Effect: Evolution campaign climaxed and concluded last week, this week I was lucky enough to land a spot in a beginning Shadowrun game. I'll be playing the team Face/Artillery mage. At least that's the plan, may have to tweak it a bit once I get my hooks on a copy of the rules long enough to read up on the magic system & finish character creation.

I dreamed there was a .. vampette is probably the most descriptive term .. after me last night. I would have dusted her outright (do not meddle in the affairs of mages) but she belonged tozakzahn, who was off somewhere on his flying carpet. Eventually she got the hint.
Weird as all that was, it was a decided improvement on the previous night where I wound up breaking kittens' necks & cutting their throats (they hadn't always been kittens. When I started with the stabitty they were hulking thugs intent on doing me serious harm).

I seem to be settling into a pattern of work an hour, take a short break, work half an hour, take a short break, work a bit more, make lunch and go into Uni for a couple of hours, work an hour plus, do my exercises, make/have dinner, go to whatever is on in the evening (3 nights out of 5, back to Uni). It's not much for getting things done, but it's something.
Inasmuch as the amount of work coming in has slowed as I have restricted new work to 'stuff that requires my unique knowledge of the in-house systems' until I get on top of the backlog, it means that I'm mostly dealing with exactly the legacy systems I want to get away from :(
A later post may angst about how & why this is not what I want to be doing in more detail.
