I should have stayed out of bed when the cat got me up at about 5:30. I felt fresh and clear-headed then...

Eventually staggered out sometime after 8. I think I'm going to stop bothering with the alarm - it's not working.

In gaming, the PC's found their way out of the caves but not without a final roasting from the dragon who was waiting outside, before it flew off. Making for the ruins (the nearest familiar spot) they found that it had been reoccupied by hobgoblins - the 100plus campfires on the far side of the valley indicates a whole lot of hobgoblins. Quarion snuck in and stole some food from the hobgoblin's supplies, as the party was in no shape to take them on.

After a very short rest and a couple of minor encounters they made it back to the river, managed to get the attention of a fishing boat and paid for passage. At town they recieved something of a hero's welcome although the townsfolk were a bit worried by the mention of a dragon. Fortunately someone managed to prevent Ferninand from spreading news of the approaching army as well.

Introduced Mortimer Mesocles, halfling merchant, procurer and trader in items magnificent, marvelous and mystical. (So the PCs will be able to turn some of their loot into something useful).

The PCs had a meeting with Commander Davion, to explain about the dragon and inform him about the army. Gave him the hobgoblin communiques. He is not a happy garrison commander (the garrison has about 20 soldiers).

They went to sort the half of the dragon's hoard which had been stashed in the magical bag-of-hold-much-loot, only to discover it empty. The bag then closed around Khainen's arm and had managed to engulf him down to the waist before Quarion managed to penetrate it with a magical weapon, at which point it released him, rolled up and disappeared with one of those funky inverted-popping noises.

The PC's have lost half a dragon hoard. They are not happy. :D

You are Dream! Many people see you as living in
your own little world. Though you would never
try to harm someone needlessly, you are not

Well, I got the one I wanted, when I expected anyone but.
