Last nights gaming sessionwas really good. It's not often I get to throw the internal consistency of the world out the window, but when the PCs (unsupervised) start randomly sampling the wares in a bar which caters to the students who climb over the back wall of the Mages College and which they know has a magical distillery in the basement ... well.

Doth posted a pretty good summary of the nights events. [Edit: and a bit more here] I won't duplicate her effort, but I will mention a few moments, mostly from my side of the table.

To Aether
"The doorknob doesn't try to bite you this time. It moons you instead"
"Make a Dex check. OK, you successfully climb up the stairs" (to the ground floor from the first floor).

To Carrie and Curough (presently snake-bodied from the waist down)
"OK, you slither out the door" (the first point at which they notice their "altered" forms) [momentary pause while players register this information] "This seems perfectly natural"
"You get back to the Inn. The elf is unconscious on the floor. He looks quite delicious" "There are a couple of people apparently asleep in their corners. They don't look as tasty as the elf, but they would be snackable".
[Carrie asks if she can in fact see that Curough has a tail] "Well of course. She's slithering as well, so therefore she must have a tail like yours. Only furry. At least, that's the way your brain is putting it together."

From Carrie, giving into temptation
"OK, I check Aether is still breathing, then I carefully suck on one of his fingers a little bit. Just a little bit - I'm not going to break skin or anything!"

And the session didn't degenerate into incredible dodginess.

even further from reality, this morning's quizzes )

In other news, the BoD article was printed in CANTA yesterday. I plan to scan and upload it at some stage. There were enough inaccuracies in it that I am going to have to write a letter to the editor with errata.
