I got the power bill today and thought "that's awfully high".
Then I remembered that power prices went up on the 1st.
Then it occured to me that about 1/2 of that power should have been used in August (my readings occur about the middle of the month), and checked the bill and behold, it's all being charged at the new rate. Sneaky bastards.
Then I did the math and they're only stinging me for an extra $3.76 that way, so I can't be bothered taking it up with them. Still, I suppose others might want to.
Guess we just used a lot of power in that cold snap. It's our highest this year, higher than any last year, but nothing on some of the whoppers from the year before that.
