Despite originally appearing to be dubious, LJ meetup last night had 7 people. All 6 others of whom I'd met before at one stage or another [rolls eyes].

[livejournal.com profile] mattmatt and [livejournal.com profile] alternateb remind me of the people I hung around with in school. Who were some of their predecessors in the drama/improv crowd so it's not that surprising :)

[livejournal.com profile] glorafilia was the biggest surprise. And not an unpleasant one :)

[Waves at the others who will be reading this since their names have appeared on my friends-of list, but hasn't any specific comments to make.]

We spent a couple of hours talking stuff, drinking, eating in some cases. The Chicken BBC (BCC?) was very nice. Particularly since it was a couple of hours past my regular dinnertime.

My week is obviously going to be up and down. I left Raccy at the vet this morning. For those of you who know my cat, he hasn't eaten, drunken, or passed anything since sunday night. He's spent all of that time curled up not wanting to move, accepting pats but complaining when anyone approaches.

[interrupted by call from the vet]

Vet thinks he's picked up a bit of a bug (which was my assessment). They'll do some blood tests, give him fluids and antibiotics. He also has an infected tooth. I hope the bug is nothing too serious. He's not as robust as he used to be (must be about 15 human years old now).

Vet is sending blood samples to another lab to "have some irregularities checked".

They said I could bring him home tonight, but they'd want him back tomorrow. So I told them to keep him in. The vet suspects the beginnings of diabetes, on top of whatever infection/bug has him crook ATM.

Hope your kitten gets better.

I thought mine was dead this morning. It just turned out she was _inordininately_ asleep. Like, shaky-shaky-shaky-kitty-not-wakey sorta asleep.

She was mighty peeved when I did manage to wake her, but.

Anyway, hope your kitten gets well.

Good luck with the kitty. Maybe you might want to ask about liver issues, that can be something that occures in older cats. I have no clue as the the symptoms, however, so I may be full of it. I just remeber reading about it somewhere back in the mists of time.
