Despite the iffy weather this morning the builder decided to get started and replace the non-double-glazed windows. I left them to it.

Imagine my surpise to get home and discover the the new windows have a lot more glass space that the old ones. The kitchen/bathroom/laundry/toilet all look/feel like completely different rooms.

I'll get some inside 'before' pics of the other rooms before the front array are done on Monday - I only took shots of the outside.

I am however going to need to organise a painter to do the frames STAT before I even think about curtains. Any suggestions.

And I hope they are going to put something in the gaps left around where they removed the old facings on the outside. That was all rimu apparently, and they've offered to leave it here so I can in fact burn my house this coming winter :D (and it'll save them disposal fees of course...)

Picture fails to convey atmosphere.
