It's ironic in a way that as some people around me (in an extended fashion) bid adieu to their pasts and look forward to the unknown, others from the murky depths of my own past hove back into view. I am of course relatively sluggish - not prone to travel or stray into territories unknown, charting a straightforward course through the tempests and eddies of life.

I find myself with little time to update my journal, and little reason to. Although I possibly should record my passage through what is still really new territory the bulk of my life has gone unrecorded and there is no compelling reason this period should be otherwise.

The ceiling insulation went in last week and has made a noticable difference, or maybe I'm just hoping it has. The house seems warmer, and the heat more evenly distributed. Still waiting on the underfloor, will call the installer on friday morning if I haven't heard anything.

My morning job has been keeping me comfortably busy. I had been putting in extra hours and comfortably finding time for myself since the afternoon job hasn't been active, but that may be changing. So back to full time busyness. Fitting in other stuff around the edges although feeling gradually demotivated - as usual by other people failing to do stuff.

Roleplaying progresses on all counts. I'm really hanging out to play in a second game, having to content myself with the faint hope that someone may be starting up a new (and interesting) game at SAGA on Tuesdays next term. Board gaming has lost critical mass but I have enough on my plate that that time merely becomes productive.

Still planning to be in Dunedin this weekend. Ahh, the luxury of being able to afford to pay for accomodation, although also, ouch! However the surety of a comfortable, quiet and -warm- (at this time of the year) place to base myself must be worth it. I'm hoping to make it a 3-night stay but have only confirmed Fri and Sat nights.
