Washing machine

Found the date of purchase of the old washing machine in the manual - 26-9-88. So it's done pretty well, even if there has been a new motor in there somewhere. (We got it with the rest of the house in '93, the motor was probably put in sometime in the '90s, I know Grandma had to get it serviced once or twice.)

Waiting on delivery of a new-second-hand machine - stores that open at 8am get my custom when I'm in a hurry. had to split the purchase between cash & EFTPOS but managed without drawing down from the mortgage.

Not a -lot- cheaper than buying new, but circumstances must. Mother says if they knew it was going to go they would have bought me one for Xmas (I think you've already spent enough money this year, what with the wedding, thanks anyway Mum.)

Ah, it's a pity there's no reliable way of predicting these things.

Me, I'm waiting upon the bed-delivery people (people who include delivery in purchase price and can deliver on my one day off get my custom), then it's into town for last minute errands (including visiting my cousin to get instructions on how to car for his tropical fish while he's on holiday..).
