This is the post I meant to write, sort of

So I was going to say more about this.
I've forgotten what I was actually going to say. I've a feeling it was important, and I've lost it.

'The things that I do' pretty much break down into
- work
- practice for work
- reading technology/freelancing/news related RSS
- gaming
- reading gaming related RSS
- reading webcomics
- taking/publishing photos around various overlapping social groups
- household chores
- time where I'm not doing anything and like the ad says, 'I feel like I need something else'
and not necessarily in that order.
It's not that I look beyond work and wonder what else is out there. It's that I look beyond my life for more and see that nothing in view that appeals.
And I'm not sure I could cope with any more anyway.
Looking at that list again I think I see the problem. These are all things that 'I' do, even though some of them are done for other people.
I don't want to add to that list. I want a list of things that 'we' do. For 'us'. from the options above gaming might make it on to that list.
It's not about 'what's out there'. We're back to 'is anybody out there?'. Or I am.
Perfect example - tonight I will be going to Creative Space. It's nominally a social setting. I will work on a project, maybe two depending on time, then I will come home again.
I may interact more than say hello to a few people, if someone else strikes up a conversation with me.

Does caring more about 'we' than 'I' make me crazy, or just unbalanced?

If you feel you need to wrestle your work back into its box, there’s no shortage of advice on the topic. The intriguing fad that is decluttering (a.k.a. simplifying your life) is just one approach — but what if you don’t feel exactly overwhelmed by commitments, demands or things outside of work?
Indeed, it seems that many people look beyond work and wonder what else is out there. Your friends are busy, you’re not good at sports, and you can’t afford a fancy art-school drawing class. So what is there?

As long as I've known you you've been doing things for other people. I know it's really hard, but is there something that you want to do for yourself? If there is, then you should do it. I've never known you to be anything other than selfless, maybe that should change? Even for a while? :) *hugs*
