There's good, and there's bad. Right now I'm trying to stop the bad getting the upper hand.
Had a small lotto win off last weekend's draw - enough to cover the cost of the ticket.
Wrapped up Job 2? 3? this week. As of next I'm 30 hours/week @ what has been my "morning job", and subletting the office for my own use outside that. It's a good reason to separate some of my other work data away from my home system, either onto the web or onto a portable HD which is now higher up the shopping list. This week I bought a desktop stand for the tablet - with full-size keyboard.
Scarily my 12-monthly forecast breaks the GST registration barrier. [mutter grumble paperwork beauracracy IRD].
Just watched a rather crackly Conan the Destroyer on the TV. Cheesy as ever, but still a good, clean, uncomplicated, silly action flick.
Gaming on Thursday went reasonably well, except for a slight hiccup when I tried to switch the game from hack'n'slash to roleplaying mode (just for a change). I've never seen so many blank faces. Kudos to
uae_kiwi for trying not to salvage the situation with his very not-social character.
I shudder to think how they're going to handle the other areas of the city, which are meant to be rather more RP intensive [sigh]. I guess it's my own fault for starting off the game in a ratehr combat heavy fashion and then falling over on the later NPC interaction (as usual).
They eventually manged to defeat the intellect devourer anyway (critters that can turn invisible or heal themselves as, essentially, a free action are tricksy opponents :D ). Now it remains to be seen if they can walk out of the prison the same way they came in :->
Not much else going on really. I have practically no idea what I am doing at any point this weekend up to Sunday evening - unusual for a BoD weekend but the event just doesn't hold any appeal for me this year.
I'm sure I'll manage to keep busy. I have some RSS feeds to catch up with and some mailboxes to clear and archive and plenty of other files to do something with. I'm hoping to find a way of doing some mass deletion without having to slog through reading a pile of stuff first.
If the weather is sunny there's always gardening.
