My photos from the games have turned out pretty crap. I installed Picasa to see if any of it's presets would help tidy them up (they do, but I have yet to figure out how to save the changes back over the original file and not just in Picasa's database. I may have to do them all by hand anyway).

Away it merrily went, indexing all the image files it could find on my computer.

~28000 images & video clips later (nicely quick, considering), randomly distributed among a number of categories....
After eliminating applications and a few other stray directories ~25500.
OCD that I am, I then had to sort all the folders into appropriate categories. The process highlighted a few things...

1. There are a large number of duplicates in assorted template collections
2. There is a significant amount of duplication in some other places as well
3. There is stuff on here which I had completely forgotton I had, buried in the debris of multiple hardware changes and OS reinstalls
4. Much of this could use deleting
5. It's cleanup time!
6. ...later in the week. Now it's "make a note on the to-do list and go to bed" time.
