We purchase equipment for underground travel and are allowed out the lower gates of the Dwarven city. The deep way between here and our destination is broad and easy to follow and although we cannot Wind Walk with as much speed below ground we still make far better time than we would on foot. There is little chance of being mistaken for clouds down here though.

Having re-equipped at the Mage Tower we set out to visit The Artist. First though we follow the road towards Drakehold in order to catch up with Gregor, Venric and Cassandra. Our arrival causes a stir with their escort but we are otherwise welcomed with surprise.

Also present is one of the Church of the Maker's special agents, a troubleshooter and mage-hunter (Lisa). It transpires she is only traveling with them towards Crossroads but her presence makes candid discussion difficult. We update them on events but fail to discover why they have been summoned to Drakehold, and I ask Lisa my regards to those in the Church at Crossroads. From this I learn that Ehlana has been reassigned to "somewhere more suited".

Our time with the Artist passes uneventfully - I do not add any enhancements this visit and Lythari takes some time to visit elven crafters and druids to commission an item which will retain its effect when he changes forms. It will not be ready for some time.

My sister has been captured, judged and will be imprisoned for the rest of her natural life, as executing her would only be an escape from punishment for the crimes committed in this realm. But her capture was not by my hand and this gives me cause to re-evaluate my place in events.

Where am I? Let me think...

First I remember the teachings and duties of the Church. These are ever a part of me.

I remember a battle - a large battle, many of my brothers and sisters in the faith would have been there to see to the consecration of the dead - on both sides, for such is our way. Our Goddess rules the Silver City on the Astral plane. Therein stand the gates to the outer planes that the souls of the dead - all the dead - eventually must pass through on the way to their dues in the outer planes.

Some choose not to pass through, these souls populate the city or serve Her as messengers for the chance to return to this plane, if only for a short time.

So there was a battle, 'good' races against 'evil', humans, elves and dwarves following a King versus orcs, goblins and others commanded by a Dragon. Yes, I was there. There was a battle and I died. Someone hit me with an axe?

I must have travelled to the Silver City then, but I am not dead now? Where am I? It is wet, dark, constraining. There are others nearby. This is not any ritual of Raising or Resurrection of which I have been taught. But the loss of memory, especially of the time between, that is to be expected. That is normal.

She must have reason for releasing me back to this body, which would be reason enough to return willingly. I shall follow the paths laid out in the faith, observe, learn, honor and prepare the dead, do not take sides and it time my purpose shall surely be revealed. Or not, for all carry their knowledge with them to the Silver City and it's Queen is also the Queen of Secrets.
